Loui Eriksson has been mentioned as a possible deadline deal for the St. Louis Blues. I'm here to briefly discuss the pros and cons of the possible trade.

Eriksson is a very strong scorer and would be the team's lead in points if the Blues did make a move for him. If we can sign him, Eriksson could make a young core even better.
Eriksson has had troubles with concussions in the past. He could be a concussion or two away from regressing as a player or retiring altogether. With the Blues injury luck this season, I'm not sure I'm willing to take that chance. The Bruins will also want a hefty return for the winger, and we would need to find a way to fit him under the cap.
While Eriksson provides us with much needed scoring ability, the price and risk are just too high for me. I've heard a rumor (key word is rumor) that the Blues would need to give up a 1st and Jaskin for Eriksson. With his concussion history it just seems like too much of a risk. While I may not be willing to take that risk, Doug Armstrong might be.
