Hockey is back. Early injuries began to scrape optimism from fans, but the Blues are off to a great start. Here are Blues Buzz’s season predictions

I think the Blues will crack the 100 point mark and put up 50 wins during the 2017-2018 season.  They’ll finish in second place in the Central Division ( behind Nashville).

Bold Predictions: Jaden Schwartz has more than 65 points and Tage Thompson plays 30 or more games. Blues play the Maple Leafs in the Stanley Cup Final.

PJ Cox (patrickjamescox)

I think the Blues will tally 101 points points and place second in the Central. With a regular season record of 49-27-6, they’ll put themselves in a solid position for a deep postseason run.

Bold Predictions: Schwartz and Schenn’s chemistry blossoms early and grows throughout the season. The two forwards produce while Tarasenko does what Tarasenko does. Young guys find their game relatively soon as well. This team will have one of the strongest offenses in the league.

Blaine Regan (@the_blr)

Overall, I think the Blues produce better than last year and win a total of 48 games. They’ll tally 102 points (48-28-6). The Blues will finish third in the Central behind the Dallas Stars and Nashville Predators.

Bold Predictions: Vladimir Tarasenko scores 45 goals this season and finishes as the top goal scorer in the NHL.

Kellen Gracey (@kellengracey)

I think the Blues take a step back, put up 95 points, but still manage to squeak into the playoffs with a wild card spot. The Predators and Wild have some issues of their own, and I don’t think either team will be as good as they were last year.

Bold Predictions: Did you see Vlad throw out the first pitch at Busch Stadium the other day? He has been working incredibly hard to get into the best shape of his life. He is a beast, and is looking like he wants to be the strongest/biggest/baddest player in the league. He wants it really bad this season, and isn’t going to stop improving until he breaks 50-goals and brings home the Hart Trophy.

Peyton Myrick (@Peytonmyrick_)

My prediction is that the Blues finish second in the Central division behind the Nashville Predators with 104 points (47-25-10). It will be a competitive season in the Central with the Stars, Predators, and Blackhawks.

Bold Predictions: Tarasenko totals 50 goals and Sobotka proves himself top-six-worthy by producing more than 45 points.

Ken Viehland (@Blueswantthecup)

I’m not as high on this team as I was before we found out that Fabbri would miss the season, but I still like their chances. I think this team has what it takes to get the second place spot in the Central, finishing behind the Predators and in front of the Stars with the Wild and the Blackhawks taking both wild card spots. I’ll say they go 48-29-5, which is good for 101 points.

Bold Prediction: Klim Kostin comes up to play some games about halfway through the season and won’t be sent back down, taking a spot from either Jaskin or Paajarvi. The time in the AHL will adjust him to the North American style of play and after that it’s off to the races. He’ll play about 40 games and put up about 25 points.
