The Blues sign Hitchcock for a one year contract. After another early exit from the playoffs this season, Ken was blamed by many for our disappointing elimination. He has worked miracles in the regular season for the past three years, including grabbing a President's Trophy. It seems like since of our fans are frustrated to see this happen year-after-year; we needed somebody to blame...
I can argue either side. Hitch is an amazing coach, who, after Payne and Murray failed, brought the Blues to what they are today. I can't blame him when it comes to which goalie we needed to put in, because Allen was coming off a great month of hockey while Elliot was coming off of a decent second half of the season. Jake didn't have any playoff experience, but he does now. And I think that since Hitch put him in and gave him a chance, Allen will be a big factor in our race to the cup next year. One thing that did piss me off was when he kept changing the lines that were working fine. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it". The "STL" line (Schwartz, Lehtera, Tarasenko) was the NHL's hottest line for a couple of weeks and they played together once during the playoffs.
