Jake Allen and David Backes are scheduled to be reevaluated at the end of the regular season... But that's only three games. For now, the goalie decision is as easy as it will be in the next month.

Backes played one hell of a game last night, regardless if you're Anti-Backes or not. Missing anybody from the lineup is harmful this close to the playoffs.
I don't have too much to give you today, but Brian Elliott will be in net. Hitch has an easy decision for the next three games (nothing's easy with Hitch).
With Allen out, my memory starts to jog back to two postseasons when we had a similar situation. And it kind of scares me. I'll leave you with this: Hitchcock justified playing Allen last playoffs with something like, "He's the future of the club. He needs the experience for next year." Ok. So what I don't understand is why, after previous years, the fans don't know what's going on as we head into the postseason.
You can shove numbers/stats into my face, but I'll shove our postseason past right back at you. It's really hard for me to pick a goalie. I'm being fair. Judging them from this season alone, I can't pick the better goalie. Elliott's numbers are insane. Allen is a wall on breakaways and shootouts (no shootouts in playoffs, though). There's a lot to think about, and we'll be dishing out our thoughts throughout the rest of the regular season. If you aren't following us on Twitter yet, that's where we post articles and live-tweet during games (even post videos that we don't post on Facebook). So give us a follow at @bluesbuzzblog, and tweet us with which goalie you have in mind come playoffs. We'll be interacting with you guys throughout the night, like always.
