The Blues are slowly getting healthier and hopefully in turn getting better as well. The Blues have had issues with injuries all season. Jaden Schwartz has begun skating again; that's some great news. Photo: NHL.com Injuries to players including Jaden Schwartz, Paul Stastny, Patrik Berglund, Kevin Shattenkirk, Jori Lehtera, and Steve Ott have crippled this team’s potential. Schwartz’s injury has been the most crippling to the team. Jaden Schwartz and Vladimir Tarasenko are the two players at the center of the Blues’ young offensive core. Without Schwartz, players like Upshall and Fabbri have stepped into roles as top 9 forwards. As we reported recently, Gomez was let go to make room for Berglund. Upshall could be next on the Blues’ "to-go" list, unfortunately. The Blues lack of offense besides Tarasenko has been rough. While the Blues currently have Tarasenko trying to do it all himself, the Stars are sitting pretty with the best record in the Western Conference. The Stars success is a direct result of their core’s health. Tyler Seguin and Jamie Benn have been healthy all season and are leading their team in points. Schwartz is expected to be on schedule and return to action following the All Star Break. When the Blues finally get Schwartz back the same dynamic the Stars have will be restored just in time to hopefully make a deep playoff run. Peter Hempstead
